Weddings in Mexico and the Caribbean are becoming increasingly popular among the more discerning traveller. That’s because of the wide ranging opportunities your wedding is open to if you choose these locations. Temperatures rarely fall below 30 degrees, even in the winter months, making it the perfect destination for a wedding at any time of the year.

Predominantly in the region of Cancun in Mexico, directly across the Yucatan Waters from the island of Cuba, nearly every Mexican wedding hotel in the region holds its weddings on the white sandy beaches of Mexico’s coast. If that’s not peaceful enough for you, then you may choose to hold your ceremony on an isolated and tranquil jetty out to the ocean on any of the Caribbean islands we feature.
When you look at wedding photos of marriage ceremonies in the Caribbean, you can see exactly why it is one of the most visually striking destinations to host your special day. Crystal blue seas and bright white sands create the perfect scenery to embrace yourself in the moment, making it a truly special occasion for all in attendance. All of the Caribbean islands have their own personal specialties, whether this be food, music or historical heritage attributions.
We advise that you spend a minimum of 4-5 days in Mexico before your wedding as the Mexican authorities require you to provide them with the official paperwork at least 3 working days before your marriage ceremony. We advise similarly for the Caribbean, but each island has their own requirements – our wedding planners will advise you of this at the time of planning your special day.
The couple will both need to provide copies of the following documents before the wedding (and also take them upon travel):
Copies of all the above documents must be supplied before your wedding day and original copies taken with you to Mexico and the Caribbean. Mexico requires the couple to complete a blood test before the ceremony – this will be explained to you in more detail at the time of booking. Any additional requirements that are specific to certain Caribbean islands will be advised to you at the time of booking.
It is also worth noting that sometimes the documents aforementioned will need to be translated or legalised by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which carries an admin fee. The cost of this will be advised to you by our wedding planners at the time of booking.
